1 · The service
Kinjot saves useful output from AI coding agents through its web app, MCP server, and CLI. The core service is free. Kinjot Pro is a paid subscription that adds AI features: recall, AI tidying, and semantic search of your saved answers. We mark paid features clearly and show the price before charging you.
2 · Your account
You need an account to sync notes. Local mode requires no account; its notes stay in your browser, so you must back them up. Keep your credentials and API keys to yourself. You are responsible for activity using your keys and can revoke them anytime in Settings. You must be legally able to enter this agreement.
3 · Your content
Your notes are yours. You keep all rights to them and grant Kinjot only the license needed to store, sync, index, and display them. We never use your notes for advertising or model training. AI features send note content to providers as described in the privacy policy. You can export your notes as Markdown, with folders, tags, and history included, and leave anytime.
4 · Paid plans and billing
Kinjot Pro is billed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy processes payments; card details never reach Kinjot. New subscriptions start with a 3-day free trial: cancel during the trial and you won’t be charged, otherwise billing starts when the trial ends. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal in Settings. Pro remains active through your paid period, then your account returns to Free. Nothing is deleted when you downgrade; paid features simply switch off. AI features have monthly usage limits. Refunds are handled case by case. If something went wrong, email [email protected] and we’ll sort it out.
5 · Self-host license and updates
If offered, the Kinjot Self-host web app is a one-time purchase for personal, single-operator use. It does not include the desktop app. The license lets one operator download, deploy, and use the distributed web app and receive lifetime updates for the Self-host product with no recurring license charge. One key may be linked to one customer-hosted deployment at a time for release and update downloads; it can be unlinked and linked to another deployment without consuming the license. The included byo.jotnow.dev option consumes no activation and may be used alongside that customer-hosted deployment. This deployment link is separate from the single-operator grant. The operator limit is contractual; the installed app does not technically count seats or call Kinjot to check a license.
A disabled license stops future downloads and updates. It does not disable, remove, or downgrade an app already installed. The hosted byo.jotnow.dev origin is different: because Kinjot serves that origin, it uses a separate HTTP cookie and license check before serving app files. The app code it serves makes no runtime license call.
6 · Self-host operations and purchases
A self-host operator is responsible for their Supabase project, static hosting, provider credentials and charges, backups, migrations, security, availability, and recovery. Each user’s note data may be sent to the operator’s OpenAI and Voyage accounts for AI features. Kinjot cannot operate, inspect, or warrant a deployment it cannot access.
Self-host checkout is separate from Kinjot Pro: it needs no Kinjot account and creates no subscription to manage in the app. Lemon Squeezy sends the license key in the receipt. We never put that key in a Kinjot setup URL. Refund decisions and related license changes are handled manually; no automatic refund-to-license revocation is promised.
7 · Acceptable use
Don’t store or distribute unlawful content, access other people’s data, or exceed published API rate limits. That’s about it.
8 · Availability, honestly
Kinjot is a small, independently run service provided “as is”, without warranties or an uptime guarantee. It’s built to be reliable, but keep exports of anything you can’t afford to lose. Remember that it isn’t a vault (see the privacy policy).
9 · Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Kinjot isn’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, and total liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid for the service in the past twelve months. For the free service, that amount is zero.
10 · Ending things
You can close your account anytime; export first. Kinjot then deletes your data and cancels active subscriptions. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. If the service winds down, we’ll give reasonable notice and time to export.
11 · Changes and contact
If these terms change materially, we’ll announce it in the changelog before the change takes effect. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms. Questions: [email protected].
